Rebecca was born on August 17, 1980.. She has always been an intelligent child, and also very responsible. She had a relatively happy childhood, an only child of a happily married couple. They were very supportive of her in all her endeavours, from horseback riding to her first dance. This happy, supportive atmosphere of her childhood, howver, was to suddenly dissappear one day after her little brather was born. The new arrival had thrown the household into turmoil, and when, a few weeks after the birth of the baby, her mother simply packed up and left one eventing, it was a sure sign that things were simply not going to remain the same. Her father, who had always been a busy man, now has to support the family on his own, and began to spend more and more time at work. Rebecca took on a good deal of the responsibilities that would have been taken by the mother had she been there, such as picking up her little brother from daycare, babysitting him each evening, doing the household chores, such as washing the dishes, laundy, vacuuming, cooking adn general house maintenance. As a result, her schoool work began to suffer. She was no longer the absolutley outstandng stduent that she had been percieved to be beforehand as she simply no longer had as much time to put into schoolwork. She was certainly not classified as stupid, and was near the top of her class, but she was no longer meeting her own high academic standards. She was no longer doing all of her extra curricular activities, and was getting less and less sleep ad she tried to deal with taking on the role of a surrogate mother at age 12?? For the next few years things continued at a similar pace, with Rebecca getting mediocre marks and playing a large part in the household. At 16 she got a part time job at a record store, on top of all her other responsibilities.
Now, at 17, her life has become cosiderably more complicated. Her father remarried four months ago to a young woman named Natalie, who is nearly half his age. Her grendmother died atwo months ago and her grandfather has become something near a hermit, although Rebecca goes and visits him often. Natallie truly dislikes Rebecca, and, as Russell is in love with Natalie, the entire feud is lain on rebeccas shoulders. Meanwhile, Natalie is compaigning to win her little brother, Jamie, over. Now, as Rebecca did bring Jamie up, he does trust her. Unfortunatley, as both her father and Natalie are pressuring Jamie into liking Natalie more, it is very hard for Rebecca. She has tried many methods of escape: she goes and talks with her grandfather a lot, which is a slap in the face for her dad, who is not speaking to his father. As well, she experimented with a lot of different drugs. Once her grandfather asked her if she was high, and she said she didn't want to talk about it. When he went to her father, he thought that her grandfather was making it up, and the issue was laid to rest. Recently, Rebecca found out that Natalie is pregnant, and that really bothered her. She hates seeing her father with Natalie, and the fact that she's pregnant is even worse. As well, after being the mother for so long, it is very hard for Rebecca to take a step back and be a kid again, now that Natalie is here to be the mom.Back to the Family Page
